College and such goings on

Starting August 5th, 2010 I will be starting online college classes for the first time in 25 years! I am taking the Associates Degree in Allied Medical Science. The degree goes for 2 and a half years and I hope I do well in this. This is a big step for me since it has been a long long time and I am afraid and nervous but excited as well. I really really don't like Algebra but I know I will do well because I have the best tutor to help me, which is my daughter Jennifer. She is so smart because I taught her early in life.

I have a few things to do for college. One, I am writing an essay for a $5,000 scholarship so I pray that I can get it as every little bit helps. I am hoping my financial aid kicks in for me soon as I need a new laptop and ink for my printer. I will have to go to the dollar store to by my notebooks as I am poor as poor can be, lol. But you can buy a lot of cool stuff depending on which dollar store you go to. I like The Dollar Tree and All For a Dollar. Also, Big Lots is cheap as well.

I am glad to say that my daughter-in-law is taking a college course as well in Criminal Justice so Jennifer will be tutoring Katie as well in Algebra. Katie and my son Vern have a 7 month boy, my first grandson, Liam Ethan. He is such a ham and I love babysitting him so my son and Katie can go out to the movies and eat dinner. I also have a granddaughter Lauren Nicole, from my son Chris and Christina. I love them all.

August will be a busy time for me besides starting college August 5th. On August 10th I go for Elections training which I work the Primary and General. It's mandatory that we go for training every year. I love working the elections because I get to gossip, lol. Also see people I don't see all year long. And also the ladies I work with we have so much fun.

Then August 14th is our big Fireman's parade where all the Fire Companies come from all over NY. Can't wait as I will be having a yard sale and selling hot dogs, soda and water. The August 21st is my High School Reunion. Well, anyone who has ever attended my school whether they graduated or not, is invited as since it was a small private school (Faith Christian Academy), we are combining the whole school into one Reunion. I hope I can make it as I don't live upstate NY anymore. I will be great to see everyone as we were all like family.
